Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has challenged the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Excise Policy matter in the High Court. The ED, which is investigating money laundering in the Delhi Excise Policy case, has so far issued 9 summons to Kejriwal. The C Division Bench of the High Court will hear Kejriwal’s petition today.
After not appearing on the last 8 summons, Kejriwal had filed a petition in Rouse Avenue Court seeking relief. The court had granted him bail in the case of appearing on 8 summons of ED. Immediately after getting bail from the court, ED issued the 9th summons and asked him to appear before the agency on March 21.
The ED on Monday said that K Kavitha and some others had conspired with top party leaders including Arvind Kejriwal and then Deputy CM Manish Sisodia to get benefits in excise policy by paying Rs 100 crore to the Aam Aadmi Party.
Aam Aadmi Party made serious allegations against ED
Aam Aadmi Party said on Monday that the allegations made by ED against the Delhi Chief Minister regarding excise policy are completely fabricated. The party has alleged that ED is working like the political wing of BJP. ED has recently arrested BIERS leader and MLC Kavita. K Kavita is currently in ED custody for seven days.
BJP retaliated
The BJP on Tuesday targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for not serving multiple ED summons and said as long as there is evidence of his involvement in the alleged excise policy scam, he cannot escape the long arm of the law.
