Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra’s troubles do not seem to be subsiding. Delhi High Court has issued summons in the defamation case. The bench has asked Moitra to file a reply. The court has also issued summons to many media organizations in the same case.
Advocate Anant Dehadrai has alleged in this petition that Moitra has made derogatory statements against him on social media as well as print and electronic media. The lawyer has demanded to stop Mahua Moitra from making defamatory allegations against him. In the court, the bench of Justice Prateek Jalan has asked Moitra to file a reply in this matter. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on April 8.
Summons issued to media platforms also
Hearing the case, Justice Prateek Jalan has issued summons to Mahua Moitra as well as 5 media houses CNN News 18, India Today, Gulf News, The Telegraph and The Guardian and media platform X formerly Twitter and Google LLC.
Difficulties are not decreasing
Mahua Moitra’s troubles are showing no signs of ending. Along with this case, Lokpal has also ordered a CBI inquiry against TMC leader and expelled MP Mahua Moitra in the cash for query case. CBI has been asked to register a case against Mahua Moitra and investigate. It has also been asked to submit the report within 6 months. In the order, CBI has been asked to inform the Lokpal about the progress of the investigation every month. On this order, CBI sources say that the case has not been registered yet, further action will be taken only after seeing the order of Lokpal. Before registering the case, DoPT issues an order after which CBI will register the case and start investigation.
