Delhi: There was a stir due to the police raid on the birthday party of a criminal who was out on bail. The party was organized by Sunny alias Rakesh at Marina Dreams Banquet Hall in Wazirpur. Wanted and notorious criminals also came to attend the party with pistols.
Based on the information received from the informer, the police raided the banquet hall and arrested all the miscreants. The police officer said that Sunny alias Rakesh, a resident of Gulab Bagh in Uttam Nagar, is a habitual criminal.

Bindapur Police has declared him a bad character. On March 5, Rakesh came out of jail on 15 days’ interim bail to get his father treated. Later, the bail for the father was extended by 15 days. Rakesh has been involved in more than 50 heinous crimes like murder, robbery, dacoity etc.
Police said that on March 28, it was learned from secret sources that the wanted person of Bindapur was organizing a birthday party. Notorious criminals were going to attend the party with illegal weapons.

Acting on the information, a joint team of Ashok Vihar Police and Special Staff of North-West District conducted a raid at night and arrested 33 criminals. Illegal weapons were also recovered from 5 people. The police seized the weapons and arrested five under the Arms Act and 28 others under the Preventive Act.
The police have also detained 70 other people present at the spot. A consignment of illegal liquor brought from Haryana has also been recovered in the banquet hall. Haryana liquor was being served to the criminals attending the party. The owner and staff of the banquet hall could not produce the license related to serving illicit liquor. Police is taking Excise Act action against the banquet hall owner. Police has filed a petition in the court to cancel the interim bail of Sunny alias Rakesh.
