An earthquake struck northern Japan’s Iwate and Aomori provinces on Tuesday. The intensity of this earthquake was measured at 6.1 on the Richter scale. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter of this earthquake was the northern coastal part of Iwate Prefecture.
At present there is no news of loss of life or property in this earthquake. Tsunami warning has also not been issued yet. Earlier in January, an earthquake of 7.5 magnitude had occurred in Japan. More than 50 people died in this. Many buildings were damaged during this period.
Strong earthquake hits Papua New Guinea
Recently, on March 25, an earthquake of 6.9 magnitude occurred in a remote place in the western region of Papua New Guinea. Due to this, three people died and 1,000 houses were damaged. The earthquake occurred in the East Sepik region near the town of Ambunti, about 756 kilometers from the capital Port Moresby.
Earthquake occurred on Java island of Indonesia
Earlier on March 22, there was a strong undersea earthquake in the eastern part of Indonesia’s main Java island. However, no casualties were reported. The earthquake measured 6.4 magnitude and struck at a depth of 8.5 kilometers north of Pasiran in East Java province.
