Actually Navdeep Jalveda and other farmer leaders were arrested by the police. After which the farmers protested against the Central Government demanding the immediate release of the farmer leaders and burnt the effigy of the Prime Minister. The farmers demanded that their leaders be released immediately. During this time, the farmers gave a warning and announced to block the railway line near Shambhu border indefinitely.
Negotiations with the government failed
Let us tell you that the farmers have been standing at the Shambhu border for a long time regarding their many demands including MSP. Because several rounds of talks with the government have failed. Now the phase of Lok Sabha elections has started in the country. In such a situation, the protest is going on peacefully. Let us tell you that during the talks, the government had agreed on many issues but the farmers were adamant on getting all the issues accepted.
Central government accused of atrocities
Buta Singh Kharajpur, District Head of Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union, said that at the behest of the Central Government, the governments of many states including Haryana have arrested our farmer leaders and kept them in jail. He said that the protests will continue until the farmer leaders are released from jail. The farmer leader said that even after so much atrocities and arbitrariness on the agitating farmers, the central government is not stopping.
