Abdullah Janan Sack, Taliban spokesperson of the State Ministry for Natural Disaster Management, informed that 33 people died and 27 people are said to be injured in three days due to floods caused by seasonal rains in Afghanistan. More than 600 houses were destroyed while about 200 animals were also killed. He said the floods also damaged large tracts of agricultural land and more than 85 km (53 miles) of roads. The spokesman said officials in Afghanistan provided assistance to about 23,000 families and that flash flooding was reported in 20 of the country’s 34 provinces.
