Adulterated Spices in Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a gang involved in manufacturing fake spices and supplying them in the markets of the national capital. These adulterated spices were being made in two factories in Karawal Nagar area of Delhi. Police have recovered a total of 15 tonnes of adulterated spices and raw materials from these factories. Police have arrested three people in this case. Police are interrogating and finding more people involved in this.
According to the information, these fake spices were being made with the help of non-food ingredients, banned items, chemicals and acids. According to the Crime Branch, these factories were run by a person named Dilip Singh and Sarfaraz, while the responsibility of supplying these fake spices was of a person named Khurshid Malik.
Fake spice business busted in Delhi
Delhi Police has arrested all three people on charges of making and selling fake spices. In the raid, the police have recovered 7105 kg of prepared fake spices from the factory, which includes 3300 kg of turmeric powder, 115 kg of garam masala, 1450 kg of mango powder and 2240 kg of coriander powder.
Not only this, the police found 1050 kg of rotten rice as well as 200 kg of rotten millet in the raw material. Apart from this, 6 kg rotten coconut, 720 kg coriander seeds, eucalyptus leaves, rotten plum, wood sawdust, citric acid, 2150 kg bran, 440 kg dry red chilli, color chemical, 2 big processing machines have also been recovered. .
Where were fake spices being sold in Delhi?
During police interrogation, the accused told that they used to sell these fake spices in Sadar Bazaar, Khari Baoli, Pul Mithai and weekly markets of Delhi. The police is now interrogating them and trying to trace those shopkeepers and other gang members.
