Delhi: Delhi Police arrested two people who cheated a businessman. The accused duped a businessman of Rs 2 crore by promising him a Rajya Sabha seat. Giving information, the police said that the accused had also prepared two fake documents of the President’s office to win the trust of the victim. Actually, the businessman was assured that he would be given a Rajya Sabha seat from the President’s quota.
Businessman cheated of Rs 2 crore
Giving information, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi Southwest, Rohit Meena said that on April 25, a PCR call was received at Kishangarh Police Station in which the caller said that he has caught a fraudster and has sought help from the police. Police reached the spot immediately after the information. Complainant Narendra Singh (63) presented Naveen Kumar Singh before the police and said that he was cheated. Narendra alleged that he met Naveen in August 2023 through a person named Nanak Das.
Naveen had called himself a protocol officer
According to the complainant, Naveen had introduced himself as a protocol officer in the President’s Office and had assured Narendra that he and Nanak Das Sansad could help him get a seat in the Upper House of Parliament from the President’s quota. Are. DCP Rohit Meena told that the accused had demanded Rs 2 crore from Narendra Singh for this. During police interrogation, accused Naveen told that with the help of Karan, a resident of Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi, he prepared two fake documents of the President’s office and sent them to win Narendra’s trust.
Out of Rs 2 crore, accused Naveen got Rs 1.25 crore, while Nanak got Rs 75 lakh. After interrogating Naveen, the police searched for the accused Nanak and he was arrested on Friday. The police officer said that Naveen had already been involved in three fraud cases. Now efforts are being made to nab Karan, a resident of Laxmi Nagar.
