WEATHER: The continuous heat in Delhi is making new records, to keep the children safe, the Delhi government has ordered the closure of all schools with immediate effect

The Delhi government on Monday ordered all private schools to keep classes closed till June 30. Keeping in mind the scorching heat in the city, the order has been asked to be followed with immediate effect. It is clear from the government order that this time the summer holidays are starting 10 days earlier. Now the children will have to return to school directly in the month of July. This decision has been taken due to the continuously rising temperature in the city.

The government order said that the heads of all the schools were directed that the summer vacation in the academic session 2024-25 will be from May 11 to June 30. However, some schools are operating amid scorching heat. These include government-aided and autonomous private schools. All these schools are advised to stop conducting classes with immediate effect and announce summer vacation.

50 days summer vacation in Delhi
This year, due to the continuously rising temperature in Delhi, a 50-day summer vacation has been kept. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi is going to experience much more troublesome heat than in previous years. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday was 29.2 degrees Celsius. The average minimum temperature in Delhi during summer is three degrees Celsius less than this. The temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius. Apart from Delhi, many other neighboring states have also announced summer vacations before time due to the heat. Summer vacations have already been announced in Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana.
