Manish Sisodia Bail: Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia got a setback on Tuesday (May 21, 2024) in the money laundering case related to liquor policy. The Delhi High Court rejected Sisodia’s bail plea, saying that Sisodia is an influential person.
The High Court said, “Sisodia is a very powerful and influential person in the power corridors of the Delhi government, as he had 18 departments.” Justice Swarnakanta Sharma said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia was involved in destroying important evidence including electronic evidence.
What did the Delhi High Court say about Manish Sisodia?
The High Court said that Sisodia was a minister with 18 departments including the Excise Department and as such he was given the task of preparing a new liquor policy. In fact, the High Court had reserved its order on the petitions after hearing the arguments of Sisodia, CBI and ED on May 14. At the same time, AAP said that we respect the order of the High Court, but BJP is doing all this out of political revenge.

Atishi, a minister in the Kejriwal government of Delhi and a leader of AAP, said about the matter that this is a political conspiracy of BJP. She said, “We respect the High Court, but we respectfully disagree with its decision. This matter is a political conspiracy hatched by the BJP. This is a political conspiracy to crush the party.”
When was Manish Sisodia arrested?
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in February last year in the liquor policy case. At the same time, the ED arrested Sisodia in March 2023 in a money laundering case related to the CBI FIR.
