Kathmandu: Nepal’s legendary mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa created history on Wednesday by climbing Mount Everest for the 30th time. Sherpa had broken his own record of climbing the world’s highest peak the most number of times 10 days ago. According to Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Chief Executive Officer of ’14 Peaks Expedition’ company, 54-year-old mountaineer Rita Sherpa reached the 8,849 meter high peak at 7:49 am local time. Kami had climbed Everest for the 29th time just 10 days ago.
Climbed Everest for the first time in 1994
Kami Rita Sherpa climbed Everest for the first time in 1994. Last year, he conquered Everest for the 27th and 28th time in the same season and thus became the person who climbed Everest the most number of times.
Has climbed many mountains
Kami, a senior mountain guide of ‘Seven Summit Treks’, was born on 17 January 1970. Kami started his career as a support staff. Kami has climbed many mountains, including Mount K2, Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Manaslu.
