MP: The biggest action has been taken so far to break the back of the education mafia in Jabalpur. Collector Deepak Saxena said that 20 people have been arrested. 11 private schools are accused of illegal fee collection of more than Rs 81 crore 30 lakh.
Apart from increasing the fees arbitrarily, there was a racket of fake NCERT books and monopoly uniforms. The accused include school operators-principals along with book sellers, publishers and distributors.
Action was taken after a case was registered against the accused in the illegal fee collection case. Collector Deepak Saxena today on Monday (May 27) held a press conference and exposed the game of looting of parents by private schools, publishers and book sellers. He told in detail that the private school management was working to loot the parents in connivance with publishers and book sellers. He told that for the last two months, the district administration has been running a campaign against the arbitrariness of private schools.
Biggest action by district administration
Under the campaign, FIR has been registered against 11 school operators or principals. The collector said that 11 schools have collected additional fees of Rs 81 crore 30 lakh from 21 thousand children against the rules. He said that private schools, in connivance with book sellers and publishers, embezzled crores of rupees. Let us tell you that bypassing the rules of the year 2018, private school operators increased the fees arbitrarily. Parents have heaved a sigh of relief due to the action taken by the district administration.

The collector said that private schools have committed a criminal act with parents. Therefore, FIRs have been filed against school operators in 9 police stations under various sections and 80 people have been made accused.
He said that complaints were coming about arbitrariness of private schools, fee hike and pressure to buy uniforms and stationery from a certain shop. The district administration started investigating all private schools. During the investigation, major irregularities were revealed in 11 schools.
Superintendent of Police Aditya Pratap said that after filing the FIR, 20 people have been arrested so far. The rest of the accused will also be behind bars soon. The collector has also shown the way to the parents for fee refund. Parents can apply to the district administration and request for fee refund.
