New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government over the water shortage in the national capital. He said that hiding its incompetence has become a habit of the Delhi government during the last 10 years. They blame others for their every failure and evade their responsibilities by holding press conferences on social media. I believe that the water shortage in Delhi is only due to the mismanagement of the government. These people are misleading the public by filing a case in the court.
VK Saxena targeted the government
Delhi LG VK Saxena said that for some time now, the irresponsible attitude of the state government is visible regarding the water crisis in Delhi. Women, children, old, young people in Delhi are running behind tankers to get a bucket of water, risking their lives. The promise of 24-hour water supply by the Chief Minister has proved to be a hoax. Haryana-Uttar Pradesh are continuously supplying their prescribed quota of water to Delhi. Despite this, the biggest reason for water crisis in Delhi today is that 54% of the water that is coming is not accounted for. 40% of the water is being wasted due to old and dilapidated pipelines.
Delhi government blamed for water shortage
LG said that thousands of crores of rupees were spent by the Delhi government in the last 10 years but despite this no solution was found. This water is being stolen and sold to tanker mafia. On one hand, an average of 550 liters of water is being supplied per person per day in the rich areas of Delhi, whereas in villages and slums, an average of 15 liters of water is being supplied per person per day. Even today, except Wazirabad, the rest of the plants are producing more water than their capacity. I hold the Delhi government’s mismanagement responsible for the water shortage in Delhi.
