Kanpur: In the era of digitalization, where people are less interested in keeping money in their pockets, but now the same digitalization is being used as a tool for fraud and crores of rupees are being siphoned off. In Kanpur, the police busted a gang that has duped investors in digital currency and swindled crores of rupees from them. This fraud was being done in the name of crypto currency. Acting on the complaint of the complainant, the police have arrested five members of the gang.
The five miscreants who have been caught by the police are so clever that they have trapped more than 500 people in their net so far. In fact, through the multi-level marketing scheme, they were trapping people in the name of crypto currency and making them understand the scheme of making a chain through call center. This gang was also operating a call center in Kalyanpur area of Kanpur in which many hired boys and girls used to work.
This is how they used to trap people in their net
The girls working in the call center did not know much about this scheme, they were just doing their job. Under their cover, this gang used to explain 17 different schemes to people through tele calling and tell them its benefits. If a person takes part in any one plan in which they advise the customer to buy crypto currency and invest in it and on adding other people under them, they get many times more money profit. In this scheme, this gang trapped 500 people in its net and then committed fraud of crores of rupees.
In this case, DCP Crime Ashish Srivastava told that this gang has come under the police custody on the complaint of a person. 5 members of this gang, including two women and three men, are educated and have also worked in multinational companies. Now by forming their own gang, they were trapping people in the net of crypto currency. However, this gang has stolen crores of rupees from the people trapped by them.
