New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail on Sunday afternoon. He was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court. Before surrendering, CM Kejriwal went to Hanuman Temple at Rajghat and Connaught Place. Before this, Kejriwal wrote in Hindi on the X that ‘On the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court, I came out for 21 days for election campaign. Many thanks to the Honorable Supreme Court. Today I will surrender by going to Tihar. I will leave home at 3 pm. First I will go to Rajghat and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. From there I will go to Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place to seek blessings of Hanuman ji. And from there I will go to the party office and meet all the workers and party leaders. From there I will leave for Tihar again. All of you take care of yourself. I will worry about all of you in jail. If you are happy, then your Kejriwal will also be happy in jail. Jai Hind!
Arvind Kejriwal reached inside Tihar Jail from Jail No. 1. According to sources in Tihar Jail, as soon as Kejriwal enters Tihar Jail, he will first undergo a medical check-up. His sugar level, blood pressure and weight will be checked in the medical check-up. Arvind Kejriwal took blessings from his parents and hugged his children while leaving the house. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal reached Rajghat and offered flowers at Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi. Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leader Sanjay Singh along with others prayed at Hanuman Temple. AAP leader Gopal Rai said, ‘The way the elected Chief Minister of Delhi was arrested. The Supreme Court had granted interim bail for election campaigning. Today Arvind is going to jail again, we hope that he will come back from jail again…’
BJP’s protest
Delhi BJP protested against Arvind Kejriwal at Rajghat. Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva also participated in it and was seen raising slogans. Delhi BJP President had reached Rajghat with workers to protest against Kejriwal. While Arvind Kejriwal was present inside at Rajghat, Delhi BJP workers were protesting outside.
