New Delhi: Amidst the growing anger among the students regarding the NEET exam, the hearing of this case was held in the Supreme Court today as well. The Supreme Court has refused to issue any order on the petition demanding a CBI inquiry. The apex court has issued a notice to the NTA in this regard and asked it to respond within two weeks. Now all the petitions related to the NEET exam will be heard on July 8. At the same time, the Supreme Court has also refused to stop NEET counseling.
Bribe of Rs 10 lakh to choose the center
The bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta has not given any order on the demand for a CBI inquiry during the hearing on this matter. Now the hearing of this case will be held on July 8. The petition demanding a CBI inquiry also mentions the tactics being adopted to choose the desired exam center, citing incidents of paper leak on a large scale. For example, students from states like Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat chose a particular center in Godhra, Gujarat to take the NEET exam. These students paid a bribe of 10 lakhs to clear NEET and choose a special centre Jai Jal Ram School in Godhra as their centre.
We did not order re-examination of 1563 students: SC
The Supreme Court made it clear during the hearing today that the court has not ordered re-examination of 1563 students with grace marks. During the hearing, NTA talked about cancelling it and ordered re-examination. The petitioner demanded a CBI inquiry, on which the Supreme Court said, can the Supreme Court order an inquiry today itself? No, no. The court has refused to say anything on the CBI inquiry at the moment. At the same time, a petitioner raised the issue of FIR registered in the paper leak case. On which the Supreme Court said that the matter will be heard on 8 July.
The NEET exam was held on May 5
Let us tell you that the NEET exam was held on May 5 at 4,750 centers and about 24 lakh candidates appeared in it. Its results were expected to be declared on June 14, but due to the evaluation of the answer sheet being completed earlier, the results were declared on June 4. There have been allegations of NEET paper leak in states like Bihar and many other irregularities in this prestigious exam. The allegations led to protests in several cities and cases were filed in seven High Courts and the Supreme Court. NEET-UG is conducted by NTA for admission to related courses related to medical education in government and private institutions across the country.
No tampering with the career of any student
On the other hand, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on social media that the central government is committed to ensuring the interests of the examinees under the order of the Supreme Court in the NEET exam case. I want to assure the examinees that no child’s career will be tampered with. He said that the facts related to this matter are in the knowledge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Whatever necessary steps have to be taken as per the instructions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the government will complete it. NEET counselling process is about to start and now there is a need to move forward in this direction without getting confused.
