This flight had left for Taichung International Airport in Taiwan, but due to a malfunction in the pressure system of the aircraft, it suddenly started coming down from 25,000 feet. 50 minutes after takeoff, the plane was flying over Jeju Island, but then due to a malfunction in the pressure system, the plane came down to 26,900 feet in just 15 minutes.

Due to the sudden descent of the plane to 26,900 feet, the passengers had to face many difficulties. Some started having ear pain while some were having trouble breathing. The passengers were forced to wear oxygen masks to protect themselves. After landing at Taichung Airport, 17 people were given medical facilities. However, they were later discharged.

The flight resumed on June 23, 19 hours after the incident, with a different aircraft. A Korean Air spokesman said the airline was investigating the cause of the pressurization system malfunction.
