Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to conduct a judicial inquiry into the stampede incident at a satsang in Hathras. An SIT has been formed under the chairmanship of Agra ADG for the investigation. CM Yogi himself is monitoring the entire incident. He has asked for an investigation report within 24 hours. This morning he visited the spot and spoke to the officials. He saw the report of the things that have come to light in the investigation so far. In the press conference, he pointed towards a conspiracy in the incident and said, “Was it an accident or a conspiracy and if it was a conspiracy then who is behind it… To know all these aspects, we will also conduct a judicial inquiry which will be conducted under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge.”
SIT will investigate, the accused will not be spared
The Chief Minister said, “By keeping retired officials of the administration and police in it, we will get to the bottom of the incident and whoever is found guilty for this will be punished.” Yogi Adityanath said, “Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be prepared to prevent recurrence of such incident so that it can be implemented in any such big event in future. All these things will be ensured.” On Tuesday, lakhs of followers had reached the satsang of ‘Bhole Baba’, popularly known as Narayan Sakar Vishwa Hari, in Fullerai village of Sikandarrao area of Hathras. So far 121 people have died in the stampede during this, while 28 people are seriously injured. Of the dead, 115 people are from UP and the remaining 6 are from other states.
What did CM Yogi say on the incident?
After taking stock of the situation in Hathras Police Line, CM Yogi Adityanath met the injured in the stampede incident in the government hospital and inquired about their well-being. Speaking on the incident, CM Yogi said, “We had made arrangements at the government level yesterday also to get to the bottom of this entire incident, but our priority was relief and rescue work. 121 devotees died in this accident who were from Uttar Pradesh as well as Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. SIT has been constituted under the chairmanship of Agra ADG for investigation. A judicial inquiry will also be conducted by a High Court judge in this accident.”
Targeted Akhilesh without naming him
At the same time, targeting the statements of SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, CM Yogi said that he is stealing and boasting, his picture with the storyteller has also surfaced. He said, “Everyone knows with whom that gentleman (Baba) has photos and with whom he has political connections? It is necessary to get to the bottom of such a mess and who was behind it.”
