New Delhi: Delhi High Court issued notice to CBI on the petition of jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and summoned the reply. Now the next hearing in this case will be on July 17. Let us tell you that CM Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi had questioned the arrest of CBI. He said that the summons were issued 6 months ago and he was arrested on June 23, which was not needed. He said that Kejriwal is not a terrorist and neither is there a risk of fleeing the country. Kejriwal was already in judicial custody.
File reply in seven days
Apart from this, CM Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that the case registered in 2022 was questioned in 2024. Actually, CM Kejriwal has challenged the arrest made by CBI in Delhi High Court. Along with this, Arvind Kejriwal has also challenged the remand of CBI in Delhi High Court. At the same time, now in this case, Delhi High Court has asked CBI to file a reply in 7 days. After that, Kejriwal will have to file his reply on the reply of CBI in two days. After this, the High Court will hear the case on July 17.
CBI arrested him from Tihar Jail
The High Court said that Kejriwal’s lawyer can file a reply, if any, within two days. The court has listed the matter for hearing arguments on July 17. Apart from the arrest, the AAP national convenor has also challenged the subordinate court’s orders of June 26 and June 29, under which he was sent to three-day CBI custody and judicial custody till July 12 respectively. Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI from Tihar Jail, where he was in judicial custody in a money laundering case registered by the ED.
