The Maharashtra government has made a provision to give Rs 1500 per month to women under the ‘Ladli Bahana Yojana’. Many women are going to the government office and submitting papers to avail the benefits of this scheme. Meanwhile, a shocking video has surfaced from Amravati district, in which the Patwari is taking Rs 50 each from each woman to submit the papers. After the video surfaced, the market of discussions has heated up.
Seen collecting money
Actually, Patwari Tulsiram Kanthale of Savangi village in Varun taluka of Amravati district has been seen collecting Rs 50 each from women. Rs 50 each was demanded from the women who are going to submit their papers to avail the benefits of Ladli Bahana Yojana. After the video of taking money went viral, Amravati Collector Saurabh Kataria has immediately suspended the Patwari.
Patwari suspended
According to information received from Amravati, an FIR has been registered against Patwari Tulsiram Kanthale of Sawangi. Taking cognizance of the video of Patwari taking money from women going viral, Varun Tehsildar was directed to investigate the matter and submit an immediate report. After the investigation report, the District Magistrate directed to suspend the Patwari as well as register an FIR against him. After the announcement of Ladli Behan Yojana in Maharashtra by the government, a crowd of women is flocking to the Patwari Tehsil office and other places to make documents to avail its benefits. The application process of the beneficiaries in the scheme has started from July 1.
