Maharashtra: Due to heavy rains in the capital Mumbai, people are facing a lot of problems, water is everywhere on the roads and railway tracks, yellow alert issued

The wrath of monsoon has started now. It is raining heavily every day in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai. The situation is such that waterlogging is being seen everywhere. From roads to railway tracks, there is water everywhere. Due to this, vehicles on the road are barely able to reach their destination. Railways have even diverted the routes of many trains. The reason is the tracks filled with water and mud. Flights are also facing difficulty in landing at the airport. According to the Meteorological Department, this series of rain will continue on Monday i.e. today as well. The clouds will rain heavily with thunder.

Local train services between Kasara and Titwala stations were suspended after a tree fell on the tracks due to storm and rain on Sunday. Apart from this, mud along with water accumulated on the tracks between Atgaon and Thansit stations. A tree fell on the track here too. Due to this, Washind station was blocked. Trains passing through here had to be diverted. It is expected that train services will resume on these routes from Monday.

Apart from the railway station, the condition of the roads is even worse. Water has filled up to several feet. Vehicles are now seen crawling slowly due to waterlogging on the roads on which vehicles run daily. Problems like long traffic jams are also being seen. To avoid inconvenience to the students, holiday has been declared for the first session in all BMC, government and private schools and colleges in Mumbai (BMC area).

The Meteorological Department said that rain will continue to wreak havoc in this way for the next three to four days. Heavy rains are expected in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada from 8 to 10 July. There are flood-like conditions in Mumbai and its surrounding areas. Some pictures of this have also surfaced. In the pictures, even big vehicles are seen drowning in water due to waterlogging.

Yellow alert issued

Heavy rain warning has also been issued in Pune, Nashik, and Satara, Kolhapur districts. Thunderstorm and thunderstorm warnings have been issued at isolated places in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Latur, Dharashiv, and Nanded districts. Thunderstorm and thunderstorm warnings have been issued in Jalgaon, Dhule, and Solapur districts. While heavy rain warnings have been issued at isolated places in Raigad, Thane, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts. Yellow alert has been issued in Mumbai as well as Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts.

Preparations for relief and rescue work

In view of this situation of rain in different parts of the state, citizens have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions. Preparations are being made by the administration for relief and rescue operations in the affected areas, so that any untoward incident can be avoided. This round of rain can be beneficial for the agriculture and water resources of the state, but due to heavy rains, problems of waterlogging will also need to be dealt with.
