Manoj Jarange On Maratha Reservation: Manoj Jarange, who is leading the Maratha reservation movement, has made a big announcement on Saturday. He said that if the government fails to give reservation to the Marathas by midnight of July 13, then he will start an indefinite fast from July 20. Manoj Jarange has urged the Marathas to gather in Mumbai for the next movement.
Addressing a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, he said that if their demands are not met, then the protest for Maratha reservation will start again on July 20 at Antarwali Sarti village in Jalna district. The government’s one-month time to implement Maratha reservation ended on Saturday. On this, Manoj Jarange said that I tell the government that the nine demands of the Maratha community should be met.
If the demand is met by July 13, then the movement will start again
Manoj Jarange said that the first phase of the Maratha reservation movement has just ended. Other rounds and phases are in the pipeline. He stressed that if the government fails to give reservation by the night of July 13, the movement will be resumed on July 20. He will join the protest in Mumbai. Let us tell you that in February, the Maharashtra Legislature passed a bill to provide 10 percent reservation for the Maratha community in education and government jobs amid the Maratha reservation movement.
Can make a big announcement on July 20
Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange said the July 20 deadline is the last chance for the government. Jarange expressed reluctance to come to Mumbai, also saying that he has no option. We do not want to come to Mumbai and also do not want to defeat their 288 candidates. This is the last chance for the government. He said I want the power of the state to remain in the hands of the poor Maratha community. Jarange announced that he will reveal the next step next Saturday.
Accused the government of betraying the Maratha community
Jarange warned that if Marathas from Marathwada come out, Mumbai residents may have to leave the city. He accused the state government of trying to deceive the Maratha community by holding meetings with people associated with the reservation issue. If reservation is not given and people of the Maratha community move to Mumbai, it will take an area of 300 km to accommodate them. He said that the day I start an indefinite fast, I will declare whether to contest the election or defeat 288 candidates, along with this I will also tell the date of going to Mumbai.
Jarange claimed that 11 MLCs won the Legislative Council elections on Friday with the support of Maratha MLAs. We will not tolerate it if Marathas are harassed by the newly elected MLCs. He warned OBC leaders who benefited from Maratha votes not to anger the Maratha community. He indicated that Muslims, Rajputs are now involved in the fight for reservation. The Dhangar community has also targeted OBC leader and Minister of State Chhagan Bhujbal.
