A key accused in the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party’s Tamil Nadu unit chief K. Armstrong was killed in a police encounter near Madhavaram in Chennai. According to the police, the accused was named K. Thiruvengadam who was trying to escape from custody. During this, he also attacked the policemen, after which the police shot him. Police said that the accused was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

BSP leader K Armstrong was murdered by six unidentified people near his residence in Perambur area of Chennai on July 5. During this, a group of bike riders attacked Armstrong with knives on the road, due to which he was seriously injured. After which he was taken to a private hospital in the city, where doctors took him to a private hospital in the city. Earlier, on July 11, the police also killed a notorious criminal in Pudukottai district.
Police arrested 11 people
In this case, the police have so far arrested at least 11 suspects. One of them, K. Thiruvengadam, died in an encounter with the police while fleeing. It is being told that before the murder, Thiruvengadam had followed Armstrong for several days and kept a constant watch on the activities of the BSP leader, after which he carried out the murder.
Opposition parties target the state government
This incident has created a strong political uproar in the state. Opposition parties targeted the Tamil Nadu government led by MK Stalin and accused it of failure of law and order in the state. Meanwhile, BSP supremo Mayawati had demanded a CBI probe into Armstrong’s murder, claiming that those arrested so far are not the real culprits. She has urged Chief Minister Stalin to hand over the investigation to the central agency to ensure justice to the victim.
