Lucknow: The name of Akbarnagar located in Lucknow, UP has been changed. From now on, it will be known as Saumitra Van. CM Yogi has also planted saplings here. Now, under a campaign, a large number of trees will be planted here. 32 types of trees have been planted in Saumitra Van, which include Peepal, Mango, Sheesham, Banyan, Guava, Arjun, Neem, Jamun, Amla, Ashok, Bel, Jackfruit, Pakad, Chitvan and Harsingar.
Saumitra Van will have forests in an area of 25 acres. There will also be 10 medicinal plants here and an annual turnover of Rs 100 crore and a series of oxygen-giving trees.
What did CM Yogi say?
CM Yogi said, ‘Action has been taken against those who have damaged the environment by getting involved in the land business and cheated people by becoming land mafia, and the Lucknow Development Authority has got it vacated today after fighting till the Supreme Court.’
CM said that after getting this place vacated, which was earlier a source of pollution in the name of Akbarnagar, today Saumitra forest has been established there in the name of Lord Shri Ram’s younger brother Lakshman ji. All the trees that are being planted are Saumitra forest. I have also got the opportunity to plant a garden here.
