New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his New Zealand counterpart Christopher Luxon on his re-election. PM Modi has also expressed his commitment to further strengthen India-New Zealand relations. Both the leaders agreed to further their bilateral relations in areas like trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, education and space. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office today, both the leaders said that India-New Zealand relations are based on shared democratic values ​​and close ties between the people and reiterated their firm commitment to take bilateral cooperation to new heights in the years to come.

The statement said, “Both sides agreed to further mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various fields including trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, education, space.” Modi thanked Luxon for looking after the interests of the Indian community in New Zealand, on which he assured continued efforts for the safety and welfare of the Indian community.
