There has been a ruckus in Uttar Pradesh over the order of CM Yogi to put name plates on the shops present on the Kanwar route during the Kanwar Yatra. While on one hand the opposition is standing against this order and protesting, on the other hand, now an NGO has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this order. The NGO named Association for Protection of Civil Rights has now approached the Supreme Court against the order issued regarding the name plate.
The NGO filed this petition online at 6 am on July 20, after which now the Supreme Court will hear the matter tomorrow i.e. on July 22. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice SVN Bhatti will hear the matter.
Yogi government gave the order
In Uttar Pradesh, first the DIG of Muzaffarnagar ordered the shops present on the Kanwar route to put name plates, after which discussion started not only in the entire state but in the entire country. The opposition started attacking on this matter. The Yogi government issued an order on Thursday and said that the dhabas, hotels and street vendors present on the Kanwar route across UP will have to write the name of the owner. Giving the reasoning behind this, the BJP said, just as every religion has the right to maintain the purity of its faith, the people of Hindu religion also have the right to maintain the purity of their faith.
The opposition is attacking fiercely
There has been a ruckus since CM Yogi issued this order. The opposition, including BJP’s ally Rashtriya Lok Dal, also opposed this order of the UP government. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary said, everyone is writing names on their shops, what will McDonald and Burger King write. He also said that the government should withdraw its decision. On the other hand, the opposition is attacking fiercely on the name plate controversy. Many leaders including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh are seen opposing it.
