Delhi Traffic Advisory On Kanwar Yatra: Like every year, this time also Kanwar Yatra has started with the beginning of Sawan month. Delhi Police has made extensive arrangements for Kanwar Yatra. Keeping in mind the Kanwar Yatra, Delhi Police has also issued a traffic advisory on Sunday. Police has warned people that there is a possibility of crowding at many places during the Kanwar Yatra.
Kanwar Yatra will start on the first day of Sawan i.e. Monday. It will conclude on August 2 with offering Ganga water to Lord Shiva and Rudrabhishek.
Lakhs of Kanwariyas will pass through Delhi
The traffic advisory issued by Delhi Police states that a large number of Kanwariyas will reach Delhi from Haridwar. While some of them will go to Haryana and Rajasthan via Delhi borders. This year the number of Kanwariyas is estimated to be around 15 to 20 lakhs.
The traffic advisory states that traffic violations will be checked on the spot during the movement of Kanwariyas and photography or videography will be done during this time.
The Delhi Police traffic advisory states that devotees performing the Kanwar Yatra will pass through several routes including Apsara Border, Shahdara Flyover, Seelampur ‘T’ Point, ISBT Flyover Boulevard Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Faiz Road, Upper Ridge Road, Dhaula Kuan, NH-8 and will leave for Haryana from Rajokri Border.
Drones will keep an eye on the Kanwar Yatra
Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements to ensure peaceful completion of the Kanwar Yatra. The police will keep an eye on the entire journey with CCTV cameras and drones. For the safety of the Kanwariyas, Delhi Police has installed high resolution CCTV cameras around the big Kanwar camp. 4 CCTV cameras have been installed in each camp with a backup of 30 days. Apart from this, monitoring will also be done through drones. To avoid any untoward incident, a separate path has been made by using poles, ropes and barricades. This will not cause any trouble to the Kanwariyas.
This is the belief about Kanwar Yatra
Actually, in Sawan, Shiva devotees fill water in Kanwar and offer it to Shivling or Jyotirling. The belief behind this is that by doing this, all the wishes of Shiva devotees are fulfilled. These days, lakhs of Kanwariyas are going to Haridwar to collect water via Meerut in UP. Some are reaching Haridwar dancing on DJ, while some are going to Shiva’s in-laws’ house with unique Kanwars. The special thing is that during the Kanwar Yatra, Lord Shiva gets to see many colors.
