Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night. Pham Minh arrived in India on Tuesday on a three-day visit to further expand the bilateral strategic relations of the two countries. On reaching New Delhi, Chinh was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on Twitter, “Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is warmly welcomed on his arrival in New Delhi on a state visit.” He said, India and Vietnam have civilizational ties and long-standing friendship based on mutual trust. This visit will further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership.
Formal welcome will be given
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that a high-level delegation has also come with the symbol, which includes several ministers, deputy ministers and business leaders. On August 1, he will be formally welcomed in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan, after which he will go to Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. India considers Vietnam a key pillar of its Act East policy and an important partner in the Indo-Pacific vision.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, bilateral talks will be held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minh on Wednesday. Apart from this, he is also scheduled to meet President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The ministry said that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is also expected to meet the Vietnamese Prime Minister. India and Vietnam have centuries-old historical and civilizational ties.

PM Modi has expressed condolences on the demise of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Phu Trong. The Prime Minister posted on Twitter, ‘Saddened to hear the news of the demise of the leader of Vietnam, General Secretary His Excellency Nguyen Phu Trong.
