A slum in Sector-8 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh caught fire on Wednesday morning. Three innocent girls were burnt alive in the accident. The bodies of all three have been sent for postmortem. The parents were also burnt in the arson incident. The father was taken to the district hospital of Noida. But due to his critical condition, he was referred from there to Safdarjung Hospital. According to doctors, his condition remains critical.
The cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit while charging the battery kept in the room. The incident took place around 4 am on Wednesday. According to the police, the hut caught fire around 4 am. The people nearby first informed the fire station. Two fire engines were sent to the spot. By then the fire had spread throughout the hut. People tried to extinguish it but the fire kept spreading. After this, the fire engines controlled the fire.
Rescue workers immediately went inside the hut. There, all three girls were found dead. Whereas, their parents were found burnt. They were breathing. Both were immediately taken to the hospital. It was told that the family was sleeping when the fire broke out.
Death of all three girls
According to the police, all three girls were sleeping inside the hut with the family. The girls were sleeping on the bed and the parents were sleeping on the floor. The fire took a terrible form in minutes, due to which all three girls Aastha (age 10 years), Naina (age 7 years) and Aradhya (age 5 years) were burnt in the fire. All three died due to this. At the same time, the father of the girls, Daulat Ram (32), has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital in critical condition. All the household items have also been burnt to ashes.
Fire caused by short circuit
Initial investigation has revealed that there was only one room in the slum. The battery was being charged there. It is suspected that a short circuit occurred during charging and it caught fire. The fire spread rapidly and within minutes it engulfed the sleeping children. All the belongings were burnt to ashes.
