Heavy rains proved fatal in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. Three people lost their lives due to electric current in waterlogging caused by rain in Gurugram, Haryana. The bodies of the three deceased remained in water for a long time. On receiving the information, the police have sent all three bodies for post-mortem. Police is identifying the deceased.
The incident of death of three people due to electric current took place near Iffco Chowk Metro Station in Gurugram. The accident is said to have happened around 10 pm. According to the police, the high tension line broke due to the falling of a tree due to rain, due to which all three persons died. The incident created panic in the area.
High tension line broken due to heavy rain and wind
Rain has created havoc since Wednesday evening. Rain along with strong winds caused waterlogging in many places. Trees were uprooted and electric wires fell. A similar accident happened near Iffco Chowk Metro Station in Gurugram. Here a tree fell due to rain and strong winds, due to which the high tension line present nearby fell. Due to rain, waterlogging occurred at that place. Electricity spread due to the electric line falling in water.
Police is identifying the dead
According to the police, three people passing by around 10 pm got hit by the current. They died a painful death on the spot. The area was deserted due to rain at night. No one came to know about this incident. The bodies of the three people remained in the water for a long time. When the police came to know about this, they reached the spot. The bodies of the three dead were sent for post-mortem. The dead people could not be identified. Efforts are being made to identify them.
