Gujarat Bureaucracy Reshuffle: The Gujarat government has made a massive reshuffle in the bureaucracy on Wednesday. The Bhupendra Patel government has transferred 18 senior officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and assigned them new responsibilities. This list also includes three officers who have returned to the state cadre after completing their tenure at the Center and Auroville Foundation.
According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), T Natarajan, a Gujarat cadre IAS officer and Additional Secretary of the Department of Defense Production at the Center, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary in the State Finance Department.
PM Modi’s former private secretary gets new responsibility
According to the notification issued, Jayanti Ravi, another IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and who returned after working as Secretary in Auroville Foundation in Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the Revenue Department. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s former private secretary Rajiv Topno has returned to Gujarat after his tenure at the World Bank.
Rajiv Topno has been appointed as the Chief Commissioner of State Tax in Ahmedabad by the Gujarat government. He will replace Aarti Kanwar, who is holding the post of Chief Commissioner. At the same time, Topno will also hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary (Finance) till T Natarajan takes charge.
Manoj Kumar will be the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister
According to the notification, in other notable reshuffle, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue Department Manoj Kumar Das has been transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister. Manoj Kumar Das will also hold the additional charge of ACS (Home) in addition to Additional Chief Secretary to the CM.
At the same time, it has been said in this notification that Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Pankaj Joshi will hold the additional charge of the post of ACS (Ports and Transport). ACS Sunaina Tomar of Social Justice and Empowerment Department has been transferred and appointed as ACS (Education).
