Nazul Property Bill: After being passed by the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, the Nazul Property Bill has been put on hold in the Legislative Council. This is the third such issue after the Lok Sabha elections on which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is facing opposition from the opposition as well as his own party BJP and allies. After which CM Yogi is seen on the backfoot. This bill has been sent to the Select Committee but due to its being stuck, discussions have once again started that all is not well in UP.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna presented the Nazul Property Bill in the Assembly on Wednesday which was passed by the Assembly amid uproar. But, during this time many big leaders and MLAs of BJP including SP-Congress were also seen opposing it. These included allies of ADA as well.
BJP leaders came out in protest against the decision
After this, when this bill was presented in the Legislative Council, but as a strategy, it was put on hold in the Legislative Council. It is being told that many MLAs angry with the bill met BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary and expressed the fear of BJP getting harmed by it, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya also agreed with this. BJP MLA Harshvardhan Vajpayee and former minister Siddharth Nath Singh also objected to it.
Meanwhile, many BJP MLAs also met Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and demanded to stop this bill. After which it was decided that the Nazul bill will be stopped in the Legislative Council. Bhupendra Chaudhary stood up in the House and objected to this bill and asked to send it to the Select Committee.
Allies also appeared angry
Along with BJP MLAs, NDA allies also appeared angry on the Nazul bill. Kunda MLA Raja Bhaiya alias Raghuraj Pratap Singh, who stands with the Yogi government on many issues, also opposed it and said that it is not in the interest of the public, due to this people will be evicted from the land and their houses will be demolished. On the other hand, Union Minister Anupriya Patel called it a hasty decision and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad also openly opposed the Nazul Bill and said that if we displace someone, people will uproot us and throw us away.
