MP: In Shahpur of Sagar district, the mud wall adjoining the temple complex suddenly collapsed, 9 children died after being buried under the debris, rescue operation is underway, CM Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident and announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased children.

A tragic accident took place in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. Here the wall adjoining the Hardaul temple complex of Shahpur suddenly collapsed. 9 children died after being buried under the debris of the wall. Many children are still buried under the debris. The rescue team is present on the spot. 8 children have been taken out of the debris. Efforts are on to rescue the rest of the children as well.

According to the information, the Shivling construction and Bhagwat Katha are being organized in the temple here. In the month of Sawan, Shivlings are being made here since morning. The work of making Shivlings started on Sunday as well. Children between eight and 14 years of age also arrived in large numbers to make clay Shivlings. In the morning, when the Shivlings were being made, a fifty-year-old raw wall adjacent to the temple complex collapsed.

This wall fell directly on the children making the Shivling, causing the painful death of 9 children. After this incident, there was a lot of screaming on the spot. The police and the city council were informed about it. The rescue teams that reached the spot started removing the children from the debris. The rescue operation is still going on. On receiving the information, Rahli MLA and former minister Gopal Bhargava also reached the spot.

It is being told that this fifty-year-old wall next to the temple complex had become dilapidated. Even after this, it was not demolished. Heavy rains are also happening in Sagar these days. In such a situation, there is a danger to the kutcha and dilapidated houses. The mud wall located near the temple also fell in continuous rain, due to which this accident happened.

Uproar due to lack of arrangements in the hospital

Not only this, when the injured children were hurriedly brought to the hospital immediately after the accident, even the doctor was not present there. Only one employee was present there. Local residents created a ruckus over this. People alleged that doctors often come and just sign and go away. There was no one in the hospital to bandage the injured children, due to which the anger of the people increased even more.

CM Mohan Yadav announced compensation

CM Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over this incident. He tweeted on his ‘X’ account and wrote that “Today, the mind is saddened to hear the news of 9 innocent children dying due to the collapse of the wall of a dilapidated house due to heavy rains in Shahpur of Sagar district. I have directed the district administration for proper treatment of the injured children. I pray to God to give peace to the souls of the deceased children. I wish for the speedy recovery of other children injured in the accident. I have deep condolences for the families who have lost innocent children. The families of the deceased children will be given a financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each by the government.

Sagar Collector Deepak Arya says, the incident happened on Sunday morning at around 8.30 am. The wall fell on the children, killing 9 children. 2 are undergoing treatment in the hospital. “
