Varanasi Building Collapsed:-Major accident in Yellow Zone near Kashi Vishwanath Temple, two houses collapsed, more than half a dozen people feared trapped

Varanasi Building Collapsed:-A major accident has happened in the Yellow Zone near Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Two houses located near Khoa Gali intersection collapsed here. This incident happened late on Monday night. More than five people, including a constable and two women, are feared to be buried in this accident. As soon as the information was received, the Chowk police station swung into action and started the relief work along with the disaster relief team. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the administration has closed Gate No. 4 on the road coming to Vishwanath Temple from Maidagin.

According to the police, devotees visiting Vishwanath temple are currently being allowed entry from gate number one and two. At the same time, teams of NDRF and SDRF as well as fire brigade are engaged in relief work at the site of the incident. The debris of this three-storey building is being removed with great caution. Police said that Rajesh Gupta and Manish Gupta had 70-year-old houses above Jawahar Saav Kachori Wale located near Khoya Gali intersection.

Accident on Monday night

These two houses were adjacent to each other and had become dilapidated. Since it was raining in Banaras for many days, the foundation of this house was filled with water. Due to this, first one house collapsed late on Monday night and due to the shock, the other house adjacent to it also collapsed. Police engaged in rescue work said that it is not yet clear how many people are buried under the debris.

Relief work continues on war footing

So far, more than five people including a constable of Uttar Pradesh Police and two women are feared to be trapped. A large-scale relief operation has been started to rescue all these people safely. The debris is being removed by hand and with the help of JCB. At the same time, Gate No. 4 of Mandir Marg has been closed to prevent any other incident.

Woman dies

After the operation was completed, the police claimed to have rescued all the people buried under the debris. According to the police, all the injured were admitted to the hospital, however, a woman injured in this accident died during this. The treatment of the rest of the people is going on. Now the police is investigating the causes of the incident. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma on the phone regarding this incident. He expressed condolences to the deceased woman and directed to provide better treatment to the injured.
