Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has passed away. State unit secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Mohammad Salim gave this information. He is survived by his wife Meera and daughter Suchetana. CPI(M) leader Bhattacharya was the Chief Minister of the state from 2000 to 2011. Bhattacharya ruled Bengal for a long time. He was 80 years old and was ill for a long time. Old age is a disease in itself, apart from this, he remained active for a long time even after retirement from his political innings. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya was admitted to the hospital at the end of July due to respiratory problems. Bhattacharya breathed his last at around 8.20 am on Thursday. He had difficulty in breathing, due to which he was also admitted to the hospital in July. He was suffering from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and other diseases related to old age for a long time.
Treatment was going on at home
He was being treated at his home in Kolkata. Bhattacharya was away from public life for the last few years due to his health. CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Salim has condoled his death. Let us tell you that Bhattacharya resigned from the Politburo of CPI(M) as well as the Central Committee of his party in the year 2015. In July, his physical trouble suddenly increased due to difficulty in breathing. Then he was admitted to the ICU of Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata. After getting information about the condition of Budhadev Bhattacharya, an ambulance was sent from Woodlands to the former Chief Minister’s house in Palm Avenue. Medical officers and paramedics reached Palm Avenue in the ambulance and he was brought to the hospital.
