In the bus stand premises of Dehradun, the bus driver and his companions gang-raped the minor girl in the bus one by one. When the girl became unconscious, the accused left her at the gate outside the bus stand and fled. The accused had brought the girl from Moradabad by saying that they would drop her to Punjab. This incident, which happened in a crowded area, has raised questions on the police security system. The girl’s mental condition is not being reported to be good since the incident. The chairperson of the Child Commission has described the gang-rape incident as unfortunate.
The shameful incident took place in the ISBT bus stand premises of Dehradun. According to the information, on August 12, the minor girl was found by the accused bus driver at the Delhi bus stand. She was saying that she wanted to go to Punjab. The driver and conductor brought her with them to Dehradun by saying that they would drop the girl to Punjab. There, she was gang-raped. The police have arrested five accused.
The gang-rape was revealed during counseling
The security personnel present at the Dehradun bus stand saw the girl in an injured condition. He informed the child helpline about this. After which the girl was rescued and handed over to CWC. The girl was being continuously counseled since August 13. In which it was revealed that the girl was gang-raped. CWC informed the police about this on Saturday. The girl was medically examined. The police identified the accused by scanning all the CCTVs of ISBT. Some suspects have been detained by the police and are being questioned.
The victim is mentally ill
The police have also recovered the bus in which the girl was gang-raped. That bus has been sent for FSL investigation. ISBT Child Helpline Supervisor Sarojini said that the girl was found by them in suspicious circumstances. She is a little mentally ill. Uttarakhand Child Commission Chairperson Geeta Khanna has called the incident of gang rape of a minor an unfortunate incident. She has said that after Kolkata, Udham Singh Nagar, now the incident of gang rape in Dehradun is very unfortunate. She said that the Commission will collect complete information about the girl. It will be investigated whether her family members or anyone else had misbehaved with her earlier.
Suspects taken into custody
As soon as the information about the incident was received, Dehradun police came into action. Police has registered a case and arrested five accused. They are being questioned. The arrested accused include Dharmendra Kumar of Haridwar, Devendra Kumar, Rajpal, Rajesh Kumar of Dehradun and Ravi Kumar of Farrukhabad, UP. It is being told about the 16 year old girl that she is from Punjab. Her parents had died, so she lived with her sister and brother-in-law. On August 11, her sister and brother-in-law threw her out of the house. After which she first reached Delhi, then from there she reached Moradabad.
