Big news has come out regarding the census. It has been told quoting government sources that the census will start from next year. The census will start from 2025 and will continue till 2026. Actually, the census was to be held in 2021 but it had to be postponed due to the corona epidemic. It is being told that now the cycle of the census will also change.
The census which is conducted every 10 years will now be conducted in 2035. Till now, the census conducted every 10 years was conducted at the beginning of the decade like 1991, 2001, 2011. But now after 2025, the next census will be conducted in 2035, 2045, 2055. Delimitation of Lok Sabha seats will start after the census is completed. The delimitation process is likely to be completed by 2028.
Questions will also be asked about sect
Many opposition parties are demanding caste census but the government has not yet decided on this. Religion and class are asked in the census. General, Scheduled Caste and Tribe are counted. This time people can also be asked which sect they follow. For example, Lingayats who come under the general category in Karnataka consider themselves to be a different sect.
Similarly, there are different sects in the Scheduled Castes like Valmiki, Ravidasi, i.e. the government is considering the demand for a census on the basis of religion, class and sect.
