New Delhi: A contingent of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been deployed in the Parliament complex to check visitors and luggage in the Parliament House. A total of 140 CISF personnel have taken up position in the Parliament complex since Monday. According to sources, CISF personnel will check the visitors coming to the Parliament and their luggage. Last year, on December 13, the anniversary of the attack on Parliament, some people jumped into the House from the audience gallery of the Parliament House and spread colored smoke. During this, these youth also raised slogans. Only after this incident, while reviewing the security of Parliament, it was decided to deploy CISF to check the visitors.
According to the information, the CISF team is inspecting the Parliament complex along with other security agencies already present there so that they are ready to take up their duties when the budget session starts from January 31. CISF will provide airport-like security to the new and old Parliament buildings. Visitors and their luggage arriving at the Parliament House will be checked through X-ray machines and hand detectors. Even arrangements have been made to scan the shoes. The heavy jacket and belt will be placed on a tray and passed through an X-ray scanner.
