Delhi: Politics is at its peak before the assembly elections. While BJP has raised questions on two schemes of former CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress has also called Kejriwal a traitor.

New Delhi: Congress and Aam Aadmi Party fought elections together in Maharashtra but in Delhi, both have parted ways. Now Congress is also joining hands with BJP and has accused AAP. Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department has said that Kejriwal has not announced any scheme for the 2025 Delhi Assembly. On receiving such news, Congress leader Sandeep Dixit called AAP’s proposed welfare schemes a ‘fraud’. Speaking to ANI, the Congress leader accused AAP of collecting data of Delhi citizens ahead of the assembly elections to be held early next year.

Dixit said, “Earlier also we had raised questions on this… When you send the proposal to the Finance Department, the money will be released. This is fraud. Calling people to register for schemes seems to be a way to collect data so that full information can be taken before the elections.” Controversy erupts over Kejriwal’s scheme

This comes after the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department issued a clarification regarding the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ announced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. The department said no such scheme has been officially notified. “It is clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi government,” the department said in a notice published in national newspapers on Wednesday.

“It is emphasised that since no such scheme is in existence, the question of accepting forms/applications for registration under this non-existent scheme does not arise. Any private individual/political party who is collecting forms/applications or gathering information from applicants in the name of this scheme is committing fraud and has no authority,” the notice said.

After the incident, the opposition BJP criticised the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, calling it a digital ‘fraud’. Delhi BJP president Virender Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of misleading the public and committing ‘digital fraud’ by promoting a non-existent scheme
