The opening of the film was very cold and on the second day its collection saw a huge drop.
Talking about the film’s collection, ‘Baby John’ opened its account with a collection of Rs 11.25 crore in India on the Christmas holiday. Now the initial figures of the film’s earnings on the second day of release have also come.
- According to the report of Saccanilk, on the second day, Thursday, ‘Baby John’ has collected only Rs 4.5 crore.
- The Hindi occupancy of the film was only around 11.09%.
- With this, the total collection of ‘Baby John’ in two days has been Rs 15.75 crore.
Eyes are on the weekend
Since the film was released in theaters on Wednesday, the weekend is still left for its numbers to increase. However, if there is no trend of increase in it, then the film can make a lifetime collection of Rs 50 crore. Reports say that the film was made on a total budget of Rs 160 crore including prints and advertising costs. Considering its budget, Baby John needs to earn at least Rs 190-200 crore to be a box office hit.
‘Pushpa 2’ and ‘Mufasa’ spoil ‘Baby John’s game
Meanwhile, it is facing tough competition from Allu Arjun’s blockbuster ‘Pushpa 2’, the 22-day-old release Pushpa 2 is overshadowing the latest release ‘Baby John’. Pushpa 2 has retained its top position at the Indian box office with a collection of Rs 9.6 crore on the fourth Thursday as well. The film is also facing competition from the live-action Disney film ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’.
Directed by Kallis, the Hindi action film stars Dhawan in a double role as police inspector Satya Varma and John. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil film “Theri”. The Tamil film Theri was directed by Atlee and starred Vijay in the lead role. Apart from Varun, Vamika Gabbi, Kirti Suresh and Jackie Shroff are included in the cast of ‘Baby John’.
