The restrictions imposed under GRAP-3 have been lifted after the air quality improved following rain in the capital Delhi and adjoining areas.

New Delhi: Rain continues in the surrounding areas including the capital Delhi. It has been raining lightly for the last few days. Meanwhile, the weather in Delhi-NCR remains pleasant due to rain. At the same time, pollution levels are also decreasing due to rain. Due to this, the government has removed GRP-3 applicable in the Delhi-NCR region. Let us tell you that due to continuous rain, the AQI of Delhi-NCR has improved in the last 24 hours, after which this decision has been taken.

Relief after rain

In fact, the Center’s Commission on Air Quality of Delhi-NCR on Friday removed the third phase restrictions under the Gradual Response Action Plan (GRP) amid a drop in pollution levels due to continuous rain. This information has been given in an official order. In fact, there has been a decline in the level of air pollution in Delhi. Here the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was 324 at 7 pm. According to the forecasts of the India Meteorological Department and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, the air quality condition is expected to improve further due to favorable meteorological conditions.

GRAP-1 and GRAP-2 restrictions will continue

At the same time, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CQM), responsible for formulating a strategy to reduce air pollution in Delhi-NCR, said that the restrictions prescribed under phase one and two will remain in force. Under GRAP phase three, non-essential construction work in the private sector is banned. Under phase three, classes up to fifth are required to be run in a ‘hybrid’ manner. Parents and students have the option to choose online education wherever available. Under phase three, the use of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel cars (4-wheelers) is prohibited in Delhi and adjoining NCR districts. Divyang persons are exempted.
