Army unveils Shivaji statue at Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh

Chhatrapati Shivaji will continue to inspire the brave soldiers of the Indian Army in the strategically important region of Ladakh. The Maratha Light Infantry unveiled a grand statue of Veer Shivaji on the banks of Pangong Lake.

Giving this information, the Leh-based Army’s Fire and Fury Corps said that this statue installed at a height of 14,300 feet is not only a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji, but also gives a message of the army’s strong intentions towards the security of the Indian border.

Agreement was reached in Demchok and Depsang

The special thing is that this unveiling has happened after the agreement to withdraw the army in Demchok and Depsang areas after the recent talks between India and China. It is being considered an important step towards reducing tensions between the two countries.

On Thursday, the statue was unveiled by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, GOC of the Army’s Fire and Fury Corps and Colonel of Maratha Light Infantry. The army said that Chhatrapati Shivaji’s legacy lies in his unique strategies and courage.

His statue on Pangong Lake not only boosts the morale of the soldiers, but it is also a symbol of India’s historical and current military power. This statue gives a clear message that India’s sovereignty and security are unshakable and unshakable.
