Agreement to prevent attack on nuclear installations

Actually, India and Pakistan have maintained the process that has been going on for more than three decades. The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that this agreement was made between the two countries so that attacks on nuclear installations could be prevented. It has been informed that this list has been handed over to each other through diplomatic means between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The first exchange took place in 1992

The exchange of the list of nuclear installations between India and Pakistan has taken place at a time when there is tension between the two countries over the Kashmir issue as well as cross-border terrorism. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “This is the 34th consecutive exchange of such lists between the two countries. The first exchange of this list took place on January 1, 1992.”

Know about this entire agreement

An agreement was signed between India and Pakistan on December 31, 1988 to hand over the list of nuclear installations located in their countries to each other. However, this agreement was implemented on January 27, 1991. Under this agreement, there is a provision for both the countries to give information to each other about their respective nuclear installations on January 1 every year. Before this, both the countries have handed over this list to each other 33 times.
