A 19-year-old Tripurai student was brutally beaten and her private parts burnt with sanitizer by her live-in partner in Gurugram; accused Shivam arrested.

A major revelation has emerged in the case of the assault on a 19-year-old woman from Tripura in a post-graduate accommodation in Gurugram. According to police, the accused, Shivam, was torturing the woman’s live-in partner and assaulting her. Police investigations revealed that the accused, Shivam, burned his private parts with sanitizer. Furthermore, he also filmed the assault. An officer stated that interrogation of the accused in custody revealed that he was having physical relations with the woman. The woman escaped and called her mother.

According to reports, the victim was assaulted on February 18th in a post-graduate accommodation where she lived with her live-in partner. The victim’s mother had informed the police that her daughter was being assaulted by her live-in partner. Police arrived at the scene and rescued the woman in an injured condition. Serious injuries were found on the victim’s arms and legs. Seeing the girl’s serious condition, the police admitted her to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

Late Thursday night, a woman from Tripura called the Sector 69 police station in Gurugram, reporting that her daughter was being assaulted by a young man. The woman told the police that her 19-year-old daughter lived in Great PG in Sector 69. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the PG and rescued the girl in critical condition. She was then admitted to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred her to AIIMS. The accused, Shivam (19), who assaulted the girl, was arrested at the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported that the girl was seriously injured during the assault. The accused twisted her arm, leaving bruises on her legs. Furthermore, the girl’s face appeared to have been beaten with a stick. Her face had turned blue and her eyes had swollen shut. According to reports, the victim is a biotechnology student at GD Goenka University in Gurugram. She originally hails from North Tripura. The woman’s mother alleged that the accused suspected her daughter’s character, leading to a dispute between them.

The accused is a resident of Delhi.
Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar stated that the accused, Shivam, has been detained and is being questioned. An FIR has been registered against him. The accused, a resident of Delhi, stated that the woman met Shivam in September 2025. The two had been living together at Great PG for the past few months. Investigations have revealed that marriage was being discussed between their families. However, suspicion was causing growing tension in the relationship.

On the night of the incident, a dispute arose between the two, after which the accused assaulted his live-in partner. In a fit of rage, the accused attacked the woman. Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the accused suspected his live-in partner’s character. The police have arrested the accused, Shivam, and are interrogating him. They have also collected some evidence from the scene and are examining CCTV footage.
