A Dalit youth was brutally beaten by a strongman in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, for demanding money; he died during treatment.

In Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, a Dalit youth was brutally beaten by a powerful man, who later died during treatment. The young man’s demand for money to load soil into a tractor proved fatal. His family is inconsolable after his death. They questioned the police’s handling of the incident and refused to cremate the body.

This incident occurred in Salimpur village, under the jurisdiction of the Fursatganj police station. The Dalit youth, who worked as a tractor loader, had gone to Shubham Singh’s house under pressure on October 26th to load soil. When the Dalit youth, Hausla Prasad, approached the powerful man to demand his money that evening, he instead beat him severely and left him unconscious.

Case filed four days later
Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the police station, but the case was registered on October 30th, four days after the incident. The young man’s condition became critical after the beating, and his family took him to Lucknow for treatment. He died during treatment. Before his death, the deceased youth had released a video accusing the powerful man, Shubham Singh.

Warning against cremation
Following Hausla Prasad’s death, his family is furious. They have warned the administration against cremating his body. Furthermore, his family has leveled serious allegations against the police, saying that the powerful man killed Hausla Prasad and the police have yet to take any action. However, the police have turned the entire village into a cantonment by sending Hausla Prasad’s body for a post-mortem.

What did the deceased’s wife say?
Regarding the incident, village head Abdul Wahab said, “The deceased was a resident of our village and had gone to work in the soil industry, and he died today during treatment. We demand strict action by the administration and justice for the deceased’s wife.” The deceased’s wife, Kirti, said that her husband was called over the phone and forcibly taken away to fill the soil. When her husband demanded money, he was brutally beaten, leading to his death, but the police are taking no action. Regarding this incident, CO Dinesh Mishra stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem and the entire incident is being investigated.
