A tragic love story ended in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh when a boyfriend murdered his girlfriend and then committed suicide. The boyfriend was upset because his girlfriend was about to be married to someone else. On Thursday, he suddenly arrived at his girlfriend’s house. Without hesitation, he repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend with a knife, killing her. He then stabbed himself, ending his own life.

The incident has brought immense grief to both families. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, conducted a thorough investigation, and, in the presence of a forensic team, took both bodies into custody for post-mortem examination, initiating further proceedings.

The incident occurred in Bhalwa village, under the Jansath police station area. 27-year-old Pragati and 30-year-old Rohit had been in a relationship for a long time. They belonged to the same caste and were from the same village. It is also reported that they worked together at a private company in Gurgaon. However, Pragati’s family did not approve of their relationship, and they had arranged her marriage elsewhere. Pragati’s wedding was scheduled for April 8th.

Angered by this, Rohit first killed Pragati and then took his own life. According to reports, Rohit and Pragati had a brief conversation before the incident. Suddenly, Rohit attacked Pragati with a sharp weapon, killing her. He then stabbed himself, succumbing to his injuries.

The deaths of the couple have caused immense distress in both families. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Senior police officials stated that the incident is related to a love affair, involving murder and suicide. “They were going to commit suicide together.”

Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said, “Upon receiving the information, our entire team, including the SPRA, CO, and the entire Jansath team, along with the forensic team, reached the spot. All the evidence has been collected from the scene. The case is related to a love affair. Information is also emerging that the two were planning to commit suicide together. However, this is yet to be confirmed. The deceased woman’s sister and brother have stated that the door was locked from the inside at the time of the incident.”
