Assembly elections are due in the national capital Delhi in the early months of next year. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal has already come into election mode. Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that registration will start soon under the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana to give a monthly honorarium of Rs 1,000 to women in Delhi. Speaking about the scheme during the AAP’s padyatra campaign in Burari, north-east Delhi, Kejriwal said that the applicant woman should be a registered voter of Delhi.
Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana was announced
In its budget for the financial year 2024-25 presented in March, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government announced the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana. It promised to pay Rs 1,000 per month to every eligible woman above the age of 18 years with an outlay of Rs 2,000 crore.
Rs 1000 will be deposited in the account of women
Kejriwal told the women gathered for the padyatra, ‘I am working for you. Soon, Rs 1,000 (per month) will be deposited in your accounts. The registration process for the scheme will start very soon.’ He said, ‘There is only one condition. The applicant should be a registered voter in Delhi. Those who are not, their local MLAs will help them.’
Kejriwal targeted BJP-ruled states
Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the former Delhi Chief Minister said that the party has governments in 22 states, yet it is unable to provide free and uninterrupted electricity, good schools or quality healthcare to the people in any of these states.
These free facilities are being given from tax money
Let us tell you that this time Arvind Kejriwal has focused his election campaign on six free facilities being given by the AAP-led government. Trying to corner the BJP on this issue, Kejriwal said that what the opposition party is calling ‘free revdi’. It is nothing but free facilities being given to the people from their own tax money.
