AAP On Kapil Mishra: After the Rouse Avenue Court ordered to register an FIR against Kapil Mishra for the 2020 Delhi riots, AAP attacked Kapil Mishra and BJP, demanded the BJP government to accept Kapil Mishra’s resignation

AAP MLAs On Kapil Mishra: Rouse Avenue Court has ordered to register an FIR against Kapil Mishra for the 2020 Delhi riots. Since then, Aam Aadmi Party has been continuously attacking Kapil Mishra and BJP. Aam Aadmi Party has also increased pressure on Kapil Mishra to resign from the post of minister. AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, raised the demand to take Kapil Mishra’s resignation from the BJP government in the House, on which the Speaker threw out the AAP MLAs from the House through marshals.

After this, AAP MLAs, carrying the banner of ‘Kapil Mishra resign’, protested fiercely near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the assembly premises and raised slogans. During this, Atishi said, “A rioter cannot be a minister in Delhi. When we raised the demand for Kapil Mishra’s resignation in the House, the enraged BJP government expelled us from the House. But we will not sit silent. We will continue to demand the arrest and resignation of Kapil Mishra, who is responsible for the Delhi riots.”

Why is the police not arresting Kapil Mishra – Atishi

Leader of Opposition Atishi further said, ”The court has ordered to register an FIR against Kapil Mishra for the 2020 riots. The whole of Delhi and the country had seen that Kapil Mishra had instigated the riots. 53 people died in the Delhi riots, their blood is on Kapil Mishra’s hands. Kapil Mishra had instigated the riots. All those who have FIRs for the Delhi riots are inside Tihar Jail. Then why is the Delhi Police not arresting Kapil Mishra?

‘Why is Kapil Mishra not being removed from the cabinet’

Raising the question, she further said that why is CM Rekha Gupta not removing Minister Kapil Mishra from her cabinet? Rekha Gupta says that there should be harmony. If there is Ali in Diwali and Ram in Ramzan, then why is the person who is accused of riots and the court has ordered to file an FIR against him, not being removed from the cabinet?

Kapil Mishra will have to resign – Atishi

AAP leader Atishi reiterated, “Kapil Mishra will have to resign. How can a rioter be a minister? Kapil Mishra is responsible for the Delhi riots. 53 people lost their lives and hundreds were injured and property worth crores of rupees was destroyed. So many people died because of Kapil Mishra inciting the riots. Why is the BJP government protecting Kapil Mishra? If Kapil Mishra’s resignation is taken, all the MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party will come back to the House on their own. Why is the BJP protecting Kapil Mishra? Was BJP also involved in this riot, that is why it is protecting Kapil Mishra.”

AAP’s protest against Kapil Mishra will continue – Atishi

Atishi said that there will be no such government in the whole country in which a rioter is made a minister and that too the law minister. Today the law and order of Delhi is in the hands of a person who is himself a rioter and the court has ordered to register an FIR against him for inciting riots. Therefore, until Kapil Mishra resigns, the Aam Aadmi Party’s protest against him will continue.

At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sanjeev Jha said, “The way the court clearly said in its decision on Tuesday that there is a document showing Kapil Mishra’s prima facie involvement in the riots that took place in Delhi five years ago in 2020. In such a situation, why was the Delhi Police protecting Kapil Mishra? Delhi Police did not name Kapil Mishra in its investigation. This simply means that the police saved Kapil Mishra on the orders of the central government.”

He further said that a person who is involved in a riot and due to which dozens of people have died, has no right to become a minister. We have demanded in the House that the BJP should immediately take Kapil Mishra’s resignation from the post of minister.
