Actor Vijay: Film actor and leader Vijay’s entry in the ongoing dispute between DMK and BJP over Hindi language in Tamil Nadu political parties

Actor Vijay On Hindi Language Row: There is a clash between political parties in Tamil Nadu over the Hindi language. Film actor and leader Vijay has entered this dispute going on between the DMK and the BJP-led central government. He criticized both the ruling parties and termed it as a fight between KG children. At the same time, DMK hit back at actor Vijay and accused him of creating confusion and being afraid of BJP.

Vijay’s party TVK has also become active ahead of the 2026 elections. He said, ‘One (party) sings while the other dances, both in unison. They are complicit in maintaining this situation. Due to this, the concerns of the common people remain unheard and unresolved. Along with this, Vijay also registered his protest against the three-language policy.

‘Fighting like KG kids’

Speaking at a party event near Chennai, Vijay also targeted the Centre over reports that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has threatened to stop Rs 2,400 crore of funds if the Tamil Nadu government does not fully accept the NEP, including the promotion of three languages.

‘DMK-BJP collusion’

Regarding this, actor Vijay said, the Centre’s refusal to give funds to Tamil Nadu is like a fight between kindergarten (KG) students. It is the responsibility of the Centre to give it. “Tamil Nadu is known for self-respect and how can you impose a language against the policy of the state in a federal system?” he said, citing the 1967 and 1977 Tamil Nadu elections. Apart from this, he also talked about exposing the DMK-BJP nexus.

In the 1967 election, the then Congress-led central government was also trying to recognize Hindi as the official language of India and protests were rampant against it. Even then the DMK had opposed the ‘imposition of Hindi’ and those protests led to riots, which led to the defeat of the Congress.
