Adani Group owner Gautam Adani met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. During this meeting, many projects were discussed. Especially the current status of Tajpur port was discussed. The Bengal government had recently decided to issue a new tender regarding this port. It is believed that in this meeting, there has been a discussion between Adani and CM Mamata about this.
Many reasons are being given behind the meeting of Adani and CM Mamata. However, at this time the most discussion is being done about Tajpur port. Recently, the Bengal government had ended the four-year-old partnership with Adani Group for the Tajpur port project costing Rs 25,000 crore. Along with this, it has decided to issue a new tender.
Tajpur port is considered a strategic infrastructure project for eastern India. That is why the Adani Group along with the Bengal government is also eyeing it. However, both the West Bengal government and the Adani Group have not given any information about the discussion held in this meeting.
The conversation lasted for an hour
The status of Tajpur port has not been cleared by the Bengal government before and after Gautam Adani’s meeting. Along with this, the state government has not yet told whether this tender given to Adani Group has been canceled or not. This is the reason why many meanings are being drawn from this meeting. There was a conversation between CM Mamata and Gautam Adani for about 1 hour.
Adani and Mamata have met earlier too
This is not the first time that Gautam Adani and CM Mamata Banerjee have met. Before this, there have been many meetings between the two. Gautam Adani and CM Mamata met in the year 2021. Only after this, in 2022, Adani attended the ‘Bengal Global Business Summit’.
